T5AotW: Week 27
Sorry for the glare on the photo but since the only person who sees this is Yanira (hi Yanira) and she only looks at some of them, I DON’T GIVE A FUCK.

1. The Best of the Velvet Underground
I can’t get enough of them. Playing “I’m Waiting for the Man” on the guitar is also very very fun.

2. Ziggy Remixed
An excellent excellent excellent album of remixes done by the fellows at http://www.ziggyremixed.com . Go there now and download the album Yanira, or ask me to file send it to you. It’s delicious.

3. I Was Warned by Robert Cray
I have another CD of Robert Cray, a best of, but it wasn’t too good. I brought this CD home from the bookstore and intend on trading it for the best of. This one is pretty good, lots of smooth electric blues guitar. Cray, who is rumored to be a real dick, did a great job at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads festival.

4. Earthling by David Bowie
Coming after the heavily industrial 1. Outside album, it is no wonder that is is also a very heavy album. It’s good, not great, but pretty good. Unlike 1. Outside, it lacks a central theme. It just seems to be a collection of good songs. That being said, there are some really good songs on it. Highlights: “Dead Man Walking,” “I’m Afraid of Americans.”

5. hours… by David Bowie
The 1999 album that came after Earthling. While not as good as Earthling, it does have a sort of central premise, that being Bowie’s age. Most of the songs are softer reflections on the singer getting older. Guitarist Reeves Gabrel left the Bowie band after this album because he felt that the music was getting too soft. Even though I say the songs are mostly soft reflections, it does have a couple of hard rockers on it like “The Pretty Things are Going to Hell” which is my favorite on the album.
